Jun 24  Gotta Conquer ‘Em All

Is anyone else playing Pokemon Conquest? I got it the other day, and it’s way better than I expected. Crazy, “I never would have expected that” crossover aside, the gameplay is solid, and any Pokemon or turn-based strategy fan should try it.

Got a run-of-the-mill CTRL-A week for you this time. Of course, all our events are awesome, even the ones that happen most every week. Take a look:

• Monday Meeting: Monday, June 25, 6:30PM, MC 4063. Start of your week right with a healthy dose of CTRL-A. Come out and support the club, and have your say in the way it operates. Think you have an idea to improve one of our events? Or do you have an idea for a brand new event? Any suggestions or comments, positive or negative, are welcome!
• Project Night: Wednesday, June 27, 6PM, SLC 2143. If you’ve ever been, you know what to expect. For newcomers, come find out what to expect! It’s great. Hopefully that teaser will convince you to come and find out what’s so great about it.
• Games Night: Friday, June 29, 4:30PM, MC 4063. A great way to kick off the long weekend. If you’re in Waterloo Friday night, stop by for some great gaming fun. You won’t want to leave!

What’s that? You want more events? Greedy, aren’t you. Well here’s a few more upcoming events:

• 20th Anniversary Planning Teleconference: Saturday, July 7, 1PM EST, EIT 2053. CTRL-A has recently completed its 20th year in operation! To celebrate, we’re planning something special. Something big. But of course, it will be a lot of work, and will require a lot of discussion and forethought. The plan for this teleconference is to discuss among members old and new ideas for the event. If you want to get in on the early stages of this event, all are welcome to attend, either in person, or online/over the phone. Details on how to access the teleconference remotely will be made available closer to the date.
• Cosplay Café: Monday, July 9, 12PM to 5:30PM, SLC Multipurpose Room. Due to the success of this event last term, we are holding another CTRL-A cosplay café! Several of our members will be in costume and ready to serve you some tasty snacks for a reasonable price. If you want some good food in a lively, fun atmosphere, then check it out!
• Weiss Schwarz Tournament: Saturday, July 14, 11AM to 3PM, AL 208. CTRL-A’s favourite card-based gaming tournament is back! Coinciding with show 4, and reverting back to a once-per-term format, Weiss Schwarz is here to show you that we aren’t tired of it yet! If you want to participate, or if you just want to know what the hell I’m talking about, then look no further than our forums! You can read all the rules here, or if you think you’re ready, register for the tournament here. The winner(s) get a prize too! Great fun to be had by all.

That should give you an idea of what we have coming on the horizon. But don’t think that’s all of it! No, certainly not. We aren’t so foolish as to play our entire hand all at once. There’s still more great events coming all through July, so stay tuned!
